Paul A. Impellezzeri is an insurance coverage attorney who solves complex problems for
insurers. His practice includes both first and third party coverage issues with particular
expertise in the areas of Commercial Property, Homeowners, Commercial General Liability,
Professional Liability, Directors & Officers and Facultative Reinsurance. He frequently prepares
coverage opinions on complex and thorny insurance issues.
Mr. Impellezzeri is also an experienced litigator with extensive experience in state and federal
trial and appellate courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums such as arbitration,
mediations and insurance appraisals. Mr. Impellezzeri is admitted to practice in all California
state courts, as well as before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District
Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California. He has also
represented clients pro-hac-vice in many jurisdictions throughout the United States. Mr.
Impellezzeri has also represented insurers in a variety of unusual claims ranging from theft of
antiquities, terrorist attacks, sexual abuse, and celebrity risks.
Mr. Impellezzeri earned his Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University of California, Los Angeles,
with a concentration in Corporate Law. He was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society,
and Co-Editor in Chief of the Pacific Basin Law Journal. He received a Bachelor of Arts in
Philosophy in 1991 from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he was
co-president of the Polyhymnia Society and contributor to the Byzantium literary journal.
